Catalogue for internal software tools

This entry describes how to use the catalogue for internal software tools.
This document is created for the customers and employees of PC CADDIE.

Dialogues

There are a total of 3 dialogues in the catalogue for internal software tools.

1. main dialogue for employees
The employee can add, edit and delete tools in this dialogue. There is a „Sync“ button so that the list is available in the main dialogue for customers, but the list is automatically updated as soon as the list has been adjusted. Of course, the employee can open the tool in the same way as the customer. Clicking on a tool will display additional information on the lower side of the main dialogue.

2nd dialogue for customers
The customer has the same view of the dialogue as the employee. The difference is that the list is not customisable, but only the tools that have been uploaded by the employee can be started.

3. dialogue „Manage tool“
Only the employee can access this dialogue, as it is only opened when the employee clicks on the „New“, „Edit“ or „Delete“ button. The employee enters all the necessary information about the tool, which is then saved in a JSON file.

This section explains how to start a tool in the list in the main dialogue.

*Opening a tool*
The customer finds the catalogue for internal software tools in the same way as the employee (see Employee view of PC CADDIE). The dialogue shows a list with all of the employee's uploaded tools. So that the customer can open a tool, the customer clicks on a tool in the list and clicks on the „Open“ button. Depending on the selected option of the start type (see mandatory fields), the tool is either started, the File Explorer and the storage location are opened or only saved.

If a new version is available and this has been uploaded by the employee on the list, you will be asked whether you want to load the new version or start the outdated version.
